When I was little I had a wrist leash because of my absolute terrible adhd (which we later found out was a gland imbalace.) No matter what my mom tried, she couldn't keep an eye on me cause I was alway amped up. I wasn't destructive or anything, but I was constantly running everywhere all the time. I can also see them for deaf/mmrd kids. Harder for them to understand boundaries sometimes.

Why the drat is this even on here? Harnesses for kids are common, and this isn't even remotely funny.

idk I can understand it at a themepark or somewhere where your child could quickly and easily get caught in a crowd, but on a stroll in a park? Seems like a bit much.

I was kept on a harness when I was little.
No, seriously!
It was blue and it had a panda on it.

its to keep the kid from getting out of your site. my parents used to dress my three sisters and i in identical outfits and wed all have our arms attached to the leash in the airport whenever we went to florida. its NOT stupid.

That's easy to mock until you are actually in the situation of having to watch over mutliple young kids at once....

I think this is a lot better than all the parents who let 2-5 year olds out of their sights...

To me, putting your kid on a leash is better than prescribing them medication for their attention deficit hyper activity disorder. A child(2-7 imo) shouldn't be on behavioral medication no matter how hyper they are, that's wrong. Putting them on a leash gives the parent more control and teaches them discipline and direction. Soon they wont act up when they are off of he leash, for fear of being put back on it.

a child leash doesnt make her a bad parent. she if anything is more responsible because she doesnt have delusions that her kid is perfect and would never run away. because kids do, and sometimes they can get lost or hurt. then she would look worse for not watching over her.

You know, its not that a person really gets distracted, but kids just run off all the time...You can look away to grab something turn around and theyve already gone. Not /all/ kids sit still and be good for mommy -.-' Im not saying i condone child leashes, but i can see why people use them lol

I'm agreeing with child harnesses being a good thing for some kids. Some of them just like to take off in crowded places. A park, on the other hand....

Actually maubw i am the minority here but i find nothing with "kid leashes". Depending on the kid believe it or not some of them actually like to run away. It gives the child the freedom to walk around a bit on their own without holding mommies hand but it also makes sure they are safe. But i wouldn't use them after a certain age. I mean if your kid can't stay still at like age 6 or 7 then I think you need some rittalin.
